Hubei Cancer Hospital (HBCH) was founded in 1973 and is a major Class A tertiary cancer hospital under the jurisdiction of the Health Commission of Hubei Province. The hospital is devoted to cancer prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, research and education. The hospital is also known as Hubei Cancer Research Institute, Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the sister hospital of Buffett Cancer Center, Hubei Cancer Center, Hubei Provincial Cancer Prevention Office, Hubei Provincial Cancer Quality Control Center and designated hospital for medical insurance in Hubei Province and Wuhan City, new rural cooperative medical care and commercial insurance.
Located at No.116 Zhuodaoquan South Road, Hongshan District, Wuhan, China, the hospital covers an area of 154,000 square meters, with a building area of 130,000 square meters and a green area of 90,000 square meters. It is the only provincial garden-style demonstration hospital in Wuhan, with the beautiful scenery on the north of South Lake.
The hospital comprises 33 clinical departments and 11 medical technological departments with a total of 2,000 beds, 10 laboratories combining basic and clinical research, national drug clinical trial base and postdoctoral workstation. In 2013, the hospital was awarded with the national key clinical specialty of oncology and the national project to improve the diagnosis and treatment abilities of difficult and complicated diseases.
