About company
Extract from the school program of the Otto-Wels-Grundschule We see our school as a living organism that is in a special social environment. Schoolchildren, educators, teachers, the secretary, the social services, the caretaker and the cleaning staff spend a large part of their lives there. In this community there are many relationships between all of these people. We believe that these relationships should be shaped by two complementary attitudes. Everyone who works in school should be respected and valued as an individual. On the other hand, everyone knows that they are members of a group in which everyone depends on the other. We resolve to challenge ourselves and others in such a way that the best personal qualities and achievements are produced. Everyone is encouraged by the others and supports them to develop their existing skills as well as possible. The needs of the individual and the community are in tension. We use this tension constructively through tolerance and mutual cooperation. The present profile is therefore a preliminary result. The following guiding principles show how we want to shape and develop our school work within this general framework. The following explanations present our goals, the measures and the desired results in more detail. As far as we can, we support initiatives and measures that promote the German language skills of foreign students and their parents and enable them to actively participate in school life. We encourage and challenge our students by offering special courses for different levels of performance. We design the work in class with the aim of strengthening the independence and personal responsibility of the students. We develop concepts that enable the integration of students with particular difficulties. We promote teamwork in the teaching staff through partnership class leaders, the strengthening of specialist conferences, joint lesson planning and the development of standards for performance measurement. As far as we can, we support initiatives and measures that promote the German language skills of foreign students and their parents and enable them to actively participate in school life.
